Healthy & Tasty Foods.....TIPS DIABETES

Your goal, is to buy healthy, tasty foods, in the right quantities, at good prices, without succumbing to the temptations around you.
Never shop when you are hungry, the temptation  is too great to rip open a bag of something you'll later regret, and to fill your cart with foods you don't need but look awfully. Try to find a grocery store you are comfortable with. This way you can get to know the store well, and you can organize you shopping list according to the layout of the store.
Once a month, buy the staples: the canned goods, oils, frozen vegetables, dried herbs that you use regularly for cooking. In the in-between weeks, only but perishables that you'll need that week-meats, seafood, fruits, vegetables and milk. This approach keeps you out of the central aisles of the grocery store and saves you lots of time and temptation.
If you are finding you are throwing out more produce than you are throwing out more produce than you are eating, consider purchasing frozen and canned versions of fruits and vegetables. Nutritionally there's very little difference between fresh, frozen and canned. Just check the label for added sugars and sodium.
Break out of your rut. Add a new fruit or vegetable to your cart once every other week. The key to a well-balanced food program is variety.
Gone are the days of not having everything you need when you need it. And  no more tedious list making; each week your list is organized, neatly typed with brand name recommendations.
Using a pencil, check-mark any item that you don't already have or is so old it needs replacing. This is a good time to "clean and toss" to make space for all the new items you'll be bringing home. This trip will require extra time, energy and money, but I promise, you will enjoy having everything you need and each subsequent trip will be super quick, easy and much less expensive.
Decide if your goal is 1,2,3, or 4 pieces per person each day. Keeping mind that the American Institute for Cancer Research says that 2 servings is the minimum and if you have sweet cravings, a few more is better
If you do not find whole-grain pasta, try the natural or health food section or better yet, a natural food store. Remember, the nutritional benefit is worth the extra effort!!
